[ Katina had long since mastered the art of functioning while feeling shitty. She'd written off some minor sleeping problems, headaches, and an upset stomach as a bug for a while, but once it went on for two weeks, well... she doesn't want to be told she can't fight, but she does want to be in tip top shape for fighting Silentium, a battle she refuses to miss.

...she exits the doctor's office looking incredibly shell-shocked, to say the least. After leaning against a wall for about five minutes, she sends off a brief text message to Viral. Tower. Roof. Now. and heads there with a VERY FAST WALK no she doesn't want to tell you what's up anyone who sees her. ]

[Text message received, the curtness of it didn't seem very unusual for something from Katina. No major red flags were raised until Viral saw her expression. Despite his lack of social skills, Viral was getting better at reading Katina. Not enough to know what had gotten to her today, though...]

[ Katina arrives with a notably drawn expression, tense without the usual anger she'd have when something was bothering her. Upon spotting Viral, she takes a long, slow, deep breath before approaching. Right. This happened, and however it happened... they'll deal with it. ]

[He actually has to think about it a moment.]

It's some human holiday, isn't it? What's this one about?

[ Feeling unusually nervous, Katina's hands go behind her back, twiddling her thumbs. ]

Valentine's Day. It's uh... kind of a romantic holiday. Big thing for couples, and all that...

[ She trails off. ]

[Was this why she called him up to the roof? There had to be more to this. Viral took a step forward and placed a hand on one of Katina's shoulders.]

[ Aaaah! She closes her eyes while mentally screaming at herself to try to be a little delicate about this. ]

[ Okay, look him in the eyes... ]

Well we've... got... sort of a... mutual Valentine's Day present... Ahahah... haha...

[ Her nervous laughter is fake on the level of Kaname Chidori. ]

[Still clueless, he frowned. Some kind of present? Try as he might, Viral couldn't come up with what it could be.]

What on earth do you mean?

[ This isn't working. This isn't like her, she just has to get it out there and be blunt and...

She grabs Viral's shoulders staring straight at him with white hot intensity. ]

[Viral's expression faded from puzzlement to utter disbelief. A short while later, he was finally able to attempt to form words again.]

That's not funny.

[ She backhands him. ]

Not a joke! And I haven't screwed anyone but you in a long ass time!

[Ow. Okay, he deserved that.]

I didn't mean anything by that... I just do not understand how this is possible.

I KNOW!

[ Yelling louder now - hopefully no one's in earshot - she grabs both of his shoulders and shakes him. ]

You're a Beastman! This... doesn't happen, right?!

It's not supposed to!

[Now they're both yelling.]

You're absolutely sure?

I didn't just get a cheapo pregnancy test or anything! This is the real deal!

[ She's not sure if she wants to hit him more or... or what! ]

Up until now I thought this was impossible! I think a little skepticism is understandable!

Well I guess you're some kind of... of miracle cat, because this is the real deal!

[That last bit seems to sink in, and all the anger disappears from his expression. This isn't some imaginary fantasy that isn't true made up by the Anti-Spiral... it's real. This was real.

Suddenly overcome with a very different emotion, Viral scoops Katina up around the waist. He holds her tight, laughing and spinning themselves around.]

Wh- [ The sudden shift catches her off guard, but... as Viral starts to laugh, actually... actually laugh...

Well, she can't help but join in, clinging tightly to him. ]

[Viral stops spinning, but doesn't let Katina down just yet. He smiles up at her.]

I don't care how it happened. I'm happy that it did.

[ Katina has the biggest grin, leaning down to cuddle. ]

Gonna... be a mom.... I'm... really gonna be a mother...

Heh. This is a little overwhelming...

[Carefully, Viral slowly lets Katina slide back down to the floor once more.]

Amazing, but overwhelming.

[ Set down now, she leans against him, closing her eyes. Suddenly, everything seems warm and fuzzy and awesome. ]

You can say that again... this is... nothing I would have ever imagined, but I'm so happy...

I am as well.

[He sighs. Holding her close, a thought occurs to Viral.]

Not that I wish to keep this... secret. But I'm not exactly enthusiastic about everyone knowing about this right now.

[ Katina nods. ]

It's... a little early to go blabbing it to everyone, yeah, even if I'd love to just... scream it at the top of my lungs.

[ She already did that earlier, right? ]

Just for a while. Then you can tell everyone you want.

[His smile softens again.]

Heh... a father, hunh?

Good.

[ She practically giggles. ]

We're parents~

[ Then a thought strikes her. ]

...we should probably tie the knot too.

Oh, right.

[Viral remembered enough about marriage to understand what it meant.]

That makes sense.

[ It takes a moment to click. ]

...right, you don't know much about it, huh? Ha... well, indulge me and my family anyways, alright?

Alright. I know it involves love between two people...

[Leaning in close, he placed a small kiss on Katina's lips.]

[ She leans back up, kissing him more firmly. ]
